Inside Bay Schools August 2018

Our monthly news roundup ...
August 2018

We're ready for the new school year!
Bay Schools staff members were truly happy and exited to be back to school this year. Watch this video slideshow by Bay High's Margot Neuman. So many smiling faces!

Google-Certified Educators efficient and collaborative
These teachers, administrators and secretaries completed an intensive training program to make them super-efficient in carrying out their duties using Google's suite of products such as Sheets, Docs, Forms, Calendars, Google Drive storage and much more. Focus for school leaders and staff . . .
Safety and security ongoing process
Bay Village Police Department Detective Kevin Krolkoski is reviewing school safety practices this month with all of our staff. Community members will see the cruisers at our schools frequently as officers make building walk throughs part of their normal patrols, a great opportunity for them to get to know our students and staff, and for us to get to know them! More safety assessments, more training for staff and students, new building visitor requirements and many more safety initiatives are underway or being studied to make our schools as secure as possible.

Bay High Memorial Stadium sports new turf!

Wow! New turf is in play! Bright blue end zones with red ROCKETS letters and a large red and blue Rocket logo in the field’s center make it clear who hosts the contest. A premium Multi-Flow Drainage System keeps the field dry for firm footing on the AstroTurf synthetic surface. Thanks to everyone involved for getting us there in time for a new season. (Funded through cellphone tower rents.)

Homecoming Parade Friday, September 21!
The Bay High Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, September 21, and will begin at Cahoon Park on Wolf road at 5:45 pm. traveling west on Wolf to Bay High Memorial Stadium.

Bay High PTSA will offer a hot dog cookout meal at the stadium before the Rockets take on Holy Name -- playing on our brand new stadium turf. Beautiful!

Plan to grab a lawn chair, a candy bag, and stake out a spot along Wolf Road to enjoy this wonderful homecoming tradition!
