Light the Night!
Finding cures for Leukemia/Lymphoma
Thursday, September 28, Bay High Memorial Stadium

Our Bay High students had a compelling idea a year ago that they are now bringing back - they will make their traditional homecoming bonfire into a force of support of our own students fighting blood cancers (leukemia and lymphoma). Light the Night will be held tomorrow evening, Thursday, September 28, to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Attend the event, purchase luminaria, and donate online to help our students acknowledge the courage and strength of Luke (Normandy), Molly (Westerly), Jane (BHS), and Daniel (BHS) who was named a HERO. Show them that #NoOneWalksAlone.

WHAT IS REFLECTIONS? The Ohio PTA, through National PTA, holds an annual cultural arts program, Reflections. Children in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit original works of art in six areas: literature, visual arts, photography, dance choreography, film production and music composition.

The Reflections program allows PTAs throughout the state to recognize children for their creativity as they reflect on the yearly theme. Teachers, parents, children and community can get involved in enhancing arts education though the Reflections program.

Start planning now! Our Reflections Information Night will be held at Bay Libriary on Oct. 25th, 7 p.m. The deadline for submission at each school: is Tuesday, November 28th.

New learning space encourages creative problem solving
Colorful murals, flexible seating and plenty of hands-on materials create a flexible learning space where failure is applauded as a necessary step in collaborative problem solving. Normandy Elemenatary students in Kindergarten through grade 2 have already begun solving "challenges" designed by their teachers in their busy little hive.
