Fourth-graders dramatize societal changes through baseball history presentation

There are few stories more inspiring in baseball than that of Jackie Robinson, the first black player in Major League Baseball. Westerly Elementary fourth-graders used Robinsons' story, as well as those of other baseball legends, to teach lessons about strong character in the face of challenges. Read about it in this front-page Westlake Bay Village Observer story.

Normandy students nurture eggs and watch them hatch for lesson in life sciences

Twenty-one days. That is how long students at Normandy Elementary School in Bay Village had to wait for their classroom chicken eggs to hatch.

During that wait, students studied what was going on inside those white shells. Read about this exciting experience HERE.

Bay Middle School eighth-graders enjoy annual D.C. trip

Parents and others enjoy the Twitter account, @BayDCteacher208, that follows our eighth-grade students on their annual trip to Washington, D.C. The account is maintained by teacher Scott Hack, who coordinates this visit. His dedication, along with those of many other teachers, make this educational, once-in-a-lifetime experience possible. They keep our students safe and, along with bringing to life our nation's history and democratic process, they teach the lesson of how to represent Bay Village in the best possible way. Kudos to all these wonderful educators!
