Dear Parents/Guardians –
While
many of us in the education field have long subscribed to the "catch
them doing something right" philosophy, the Bay Village Schools have
implemented a K-12 umbrella of common beliefs and age-appropriate
vocabulary about how students treat others and themselves.
We begin with clear expectations:
When students put those positive traits into action by showing respect
and kindness, by promoting fairness and safe choices, and by expecting
more of themselves by taking on challenges and responsibility, they reap
the rewards. A reward might be tangible, like a Rocket Note at Bay High
or Bay Middle School, or Rocket Bucks at the elementary level. It might
be a phone call or letter of recognition to parents. Or it might be
just the knowledge that they have made their school and the world a
better place.
These are values that will serve our children well
both now and as they navigate a successful future. Please support these
values at home, as well, and "catch them doing something right!"
Best,
Mrs. Hausmann
