Dear Parents/Guardians:
New process for attendance calls starts in May:
As you know, parents are asked to call their school attendance lines
when their students will be absent with the day/s and the reason for the
absence. If parents forget to call, we are obligated to contact them to
insure that they are aware their child is not in school. Often, schools
must make a number of calls to confirm that parents are aware their
students are absent. Starting in May, we are going to use School
Messenger to make automated calls, emails and texts to parents, letting
them know when their child has not arrived at school with no record of a
call to the attendance line. The call will ask parents to contact the
school immediately. This is a very important safety measure for our
students.
Board of Education is accepting applications for board member appointment:
We
had a lovely farewell meeting for Mrs. Amy Huntley's last evening as a
Bay Village Board of Education member on Monday, April 15. We wish her
all the best in the future.
If
you are interested in investing your time in taking on a serious
responsibility, serving on our school board is a great way to have a
positive impact on our schools. Applications will be accepted through
Tuesday, April 30. The board will interview applicants and expects to
swear in the newly-appointed board member on Monday, May 13. Find more
information about what is involved, and download an application, at: http://bit.ly/BayBOEapp2019.
Have a wonderful and restorative Spring Break!
Best,
Mrs. Hausmann |
