Overview
The Bay Village City School District is located in Bay Village, Ohio, a suburban residential community in Cuyahoga County just 20 miles west of Cleveland on the shore of Lake Erie.
Our student state test scores place us consistently
in the top 2-5% of all public school districts on the Ohio Report Card, and Bay High attains above average scores over
state and national averages on SAT and ACT college entrance exams. Our district has been named to the prestigious Best Music Education
Communities in America list since 2003. Bay High and Westerly Elementary are National Blue Ribbon Schools, and all our schools are National PTA Schools of Excellence because of strong school-family relationships.
We offer child care and a special needs preschool center. Glenview
Center for Child Care, provides before- and after-school supervision, a
half-day kindergarten extension program, a regular preschool and a
special needs preschool, as well as full daycare for infants through
preschool-aged children. The child care and extended kindergarten
programs are funded through individual fees.
Five square miles of more than 95 percent residential properties and tree-lined, sidewalk-lined streets are home to the district's four school buildings organized as a K-2 elementary (Normandy), 3-4 elementary (Westerly), a 5-8 middle school (Bay Middle School) and a 9-12 high school (Bay High School). The community's closeness is exemplified by the fact that each grade level stays together in the same school through high school graduation. The district serves about 2,500 students.
The district is excited to roll out its new strategic plan, Beyond the Horizon, for the years 2021-2025. Click here for more information.
